Due to the Homecoming Parade, vehicular traffic on Church St. is likely to be significantly impacted from 2:00 until approximately 3:30 on Friday afternoon. In an effort to increase the safety of both spectators and participants, fencing will be installed in front of City Hall on Church St. beginning at about 1:30 pm. Once the fencing has been placed, any vehicles parked in the public parking spaces on Church St. will be blocked in and unable to leave until after the parade has ended and the fencing has been removed. Beginning at approximately 2:15 pm all traffic will be stopped from entering the parade route. Vehicles will not be able to turn North onto Church St. from Montevallo Rd. The parade will begin at 2:30 pm. Once the parade is concluded, Church St. will remain closed until the fencing can be removed. However, traffic will be able to use both Vine and Oak streets as a detour.
The parade route is as follows:
- Parade begins on Overbrook (side of Mtn. Brook Baptist)
- Right on Montevallo Rd.
- Left on Church St.
- Left on Euclid Ave.
- Left on Dan Watkins Dr. where it concludes
